Taking note of the incidents of rape of minor girls, the Uttar Pradesh Police today directed the investigators concerned to complete the probe within a month and submit charge sheet.

"DGP O P Singh has directed all ADGs to visit spots with senior officers in cases related to rape of girls up to 12 years of age and collect scientific proof. Attempts should be made to complete the probe within a month and submit charge sheet in the court so that the accused do not get bail," DIG (Law and Order) Praveen Kumar said.

"It should be started as a campaign and it will be reviewed from time to time. It will help in solving cases and also give a strong message to the society," the Director General of Police (DGP) said in his directive.

The DIG said that in March, 25 rape accused were awarded punishment by courts in Uttar Pradesh.
