Cop dies in mishap, wife injured

An Inspector of a police station in Palamau district was today killed in a road mishap while his wife suffered serious injuries near Hotwar on Medininagar-Ranchi Road in Latehar district, police said.

Inspector Amarnath along with his family was returning to Medininagar from Latehar on his car when he lost control and the vehicle collided with a road side mixture plant, DIG (Palamau) Saket Kumar Singh said.

While Amarnath died instantly, his wife suffered serious injuries, he said adding the injured was rushed to a nearby hospital but doctors referred her to Rajendra Institute of Medical Science, Ranchi.
