Farmer commits suicide after shooting dead two daughters

A 42-year-old farmercommitted suicide after he allegedly gunned down his two minor daughters today and injured his wife seriously at Matheri village in the district.

Jaivir Singh, who was reportedly under stress over some issue, allegedly shot dead his two daughters- Suveta (16) and Piryanshi (9) after returning back from the fields here, police said.

His wife Minu was also injured in the shooting and was rushed to the hospital in a serious condition, they said.

Singh's 10-year-old son Kirshan was playing outside the house at the time of incident, they said.

Senior police officials rushed to the spot and sent the bodies for post mortem.
