Fire in garment factory

A massive fire broke out in a garment factory in Sahibabad Industrial area of the district.

The blaze erupted at Shri Vardhman Knityarn Private Limited, situated at Site-4 of the industrial area, at around 11 PM last night, Chief Fire Officer of Ghaziabad V K Singh said.

Six fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames, Singh said.

Though no one was injured, the fire caused extensive damage to garment machines and other goods, officials said, adding the exact loss was yet to be ascertained.

The cause of the fire is yet to be established.
