Ganja seized at airport

More than four kg of ganja was

seized from a Doha-bound passenger by Customs officials at the Mangaluru International Airport.

Customs department said the seizure was made yesterday and the passenger arrested based on a tip-off given by Air India security

The passenger from Kasaragod in Kerala was possessing 4.110 kg of dark green dry leaves of cannabis, valued at about Rs 5 lakh in the international market, the department said in a release.

The passenger, who had concealed the ganja in his baggage, was about to board a flight scheduled to depart from the MIA last evening, the release said.
 

The passenger was arrested and produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate here and remanded to judicial custody.
