Gram Panchayat member in ACB net

A Gram Panchayat member was today caught by ACB sleuths while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.

Ramkrishna Bhujanga Dhangar (55), a member of village Fetri Gram Panchayat in Digras tehsil, was trapped while accepting the bribe in a hotel here from a man, Deputy Superintendent of Police (ACB) Satish Deshmukh said.

Dhangar had demanded the bribe for not pursuing a complaint lodged against substandard construction of a local anganwadi (Government-run child care centre), he said.

"We have arrested him and further investigation is on," informed Deshmukh.
