Gujarat CM urges Vadodara Municipal Corporation to be alert

Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel asked Vadodara Municipal Corporation and its district collectorate to be alert during night after an increase in the water level of Vishwamitri river passing through the city.

The river's water level has risen to 29 feet, which is above the danger level.

Talking to PTI, Municipal Commissioner Manish Bhardwaj said "we are prepared to meet any situation arising out of water level in Vishwamitri river crossing the danger level".

Patel rushed to the city here tonight to review the situation after heavy rain contined to lash the city and district in the past 36 hours.
 

Two National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) teams and boats have been deployed in villages of the talukas of Savli, Waghodiya and Dabhoi to help those affected by heavy rains.
