A petition has been filed in the Madras High Court bench here alleging forgery in the sale of land to a company represented by former union minister M K Alagiri's wife Gandhi Alagiri and seeking necessary action.
When the petition came up for hearing, Justice M M Sundaresh granted time to the police to investigate the complaint and file a report to the court. He adjourned the matter to July 13.
Petitioner R Rajeswari of the city submitted her husband family's ancestral property measuring 25 cents (about 10,875 sq feet) of land in nearby Sivarakottai village was sold to Dhaya Cyber Park (Pvt) Ltd, represented by its Managing Director Gandhi Alagiri on April 3, 2008 allegedly by forging documents.

She claimed her husband had not agreed to sell the property, but others carried out the transaction by citing him as a minor in the documents.
She a lodged complaint with the Superintendent of Police on February 3 last, who in turn forwarded the same to a district Crime-Branch inspector for action. However, there was no proper follow-up action.
Gandhi Alagiri's side denied the charge and said there as no illegality in the sale transaction.
After hearing both sides, the judge asked whether the police had conducted any inquiry into the matter. But Police sought time.
