Health min reviews cancer institute plan; alerts about Ebola

Rajasthan Health Minister Rajendra Rathore today reviewed the detailed work plan for setting up a cancer institute with world-class facilities here.

The institute will be set up near a proposed medical college in Pratap Nagar which will have a 200-bedded hospital and over 700 people will be employed.

The minister reviewed the preparations in a meeting during which a presentation was given by officials.

"He directed the officials to consult with experts for installing modern machines and other facilities for patients and their attendants," according to a spokesperson.

Vice-chancellor, Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Rajababu Panwar gave a presentation during the meet.
 

Rathore also asked the officials to remain vigilant to the Ebola virus and to properly follow guidelines issued by the Union Health Ministry regarding the screening of suspected cases.
