Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik was arrested today, ahead of the death anniversaries of Mohammad Afzal Guru and Maqbool Bhat, the police said here.
Malik was taken into custody from the JKLF head office in the Abi Guzar area of the city, a police official said.
He added that the separatist leader was arrested ahead of the death anniversaries of Parliament attack convict Guru, who was hanged inside New Delhi's Tihar Jail on February 9, 2013, and Bhat, the JKLF founder who was also hanged in the same jail on February 11, 1984.
Meanwhile, a JKLF spokesman said Malik was shifted to the Central Jail here on judicial remand.
