Lightning kills farm labourer

Lightning killed a woman farm labourer in Bitiwada village of Veeraghattam mandal, the police said here today.

Farm labourers G Chinapamma (48) and G Ramudamma (45) hailing from Magguru village in Vangara mandal were working on a farm at Bitiwada village today, while they were struck by lightning.

Chinappamma died, while Ramudamma survived with injuries on Wednesday.

An injured Ramudamma was shifted to a hospital for for treatment and she is said to be out of danger.

The police registered a case and Chinappamma's body was sent for postmortem.
