A senior Congress leader today alleged that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been complaining of deprivation of the state by the Centre though she came to power with the help of Congress.

"Banerjee came to power with the help of Congress, but she has been complaining of deprivation of the state by Congress-led UPA government at the Centre. She has been doing what former chief minister Jyoti Basu used to say against the Centre," Pradesh Congress leader and MLA Manas Bhunia told a rally here.

Bhunia addressed a gathering at Rajbati before municipality polls in Burdwan town.

According to him, Banerjee has been eyeing the chair of prime minister with the help of chief minister like Nitish Kumar, Jayalalitha and Parakash Singh Badal.

"But her dream will remain unrealised as these leaders will take a U-turn within a week's time," he said adding that the democratic rights of people in West Bengal is at stake.

"The ministers and other officials of state government are scared of her. People have no right to express their opinion," he said.
