Man asphyxiated to death

A 43-year old man was

asphyxiated to death when he inhaled fumes from a diesel motor while pumping out water from his well at Kalkurichi near here today, police said.

Marshel Aathel fainted and fell into the well and died, they said.

His neighbour Jeyaraj who rushed there on hearing the commotion tried to save him and also fell unconscious.

He was later pulled out by passersby and rushed to a hospital where his condition was stated to be out of danger, police added.
