In a fit of rage, a man allegedly shot dead his prospective wife and then killed himself at Churgaliya in the district today, police said.
25-year-old Pankaj Karki apparently had an argument with his bride-to-be and opened fire at her killing her on the spot.
He gunned down himself soon after that, Nainital SSP Senthil Aboodai said.
Both of them died on the spot, the SSP said adding that the incident took place in the bedroom of the girl.
The couple was soon to get engaged, he said.
