Man lynched after motorcycle rams into cyclist in UP

A motorcycle-borne man was lynched by a mob after he ploughed into a cyclist in Atibara village in the Madnapur area here, police said today.

The incident took place on Tuesday. Nabi Ahmad and his friend Ajmat Ullah were riding a motorcycle, which hit a cyclist, Sunil.

Soon after the incident, a crowd gathered in the street and started thrashing Nabi and his friend.

They were seriously injured in the attack and rushed to a hospital, where Nabi died during treatment. Ajmat's condition is "serious", the police said.

An FIR has been registered against five persons, including Sunil, under relevant sections of the IPC. A probe is on in the matter.
