Man stabs 5-year old son in anger

A five-year old boy is battling for life after his father stabbed him in his stomach following a quarrel with his wife at Thulukalur in the district today, police said.

Murugan had married a widow, who has a 11-year old daughter from her previous marriage. After the second marriage, she gave birth to the baby boy.

However, the couple used to have frequent quarrel and on a complaint from the woman, Murugan was arrested and released from jail only today.

Enraged over his detention, he entered into a quarrel with his wife and in a fit of anger stabbed his son in the stomach.
 

After first aid at a local private hospital, the boy has been referred to the government hospital here where his condition was critical, police said adding investigations were on.
