Miscreants looted over Rs 30 lakh from an automated teller machine (ATM) of a nationalized bank in Sarasdangaal area under the naxal-affected Shikaripara police station of Dumka district, police today said.
The miscreants allegedly cut open the chest of the State Bank of Indias ATM and decamped with Rs 30.20 lakh, officer-in-charge of Shikaripara police station, Manoj Kumar Thakur said.
As soon as the police was informed of the incident today, it swung into action and conducted raids, he said.
He said the ATM is situated close to the Sarasdangaal branch of SBI.
