Moderate to heavy rain in sub-Himalayan districts likely

The weatherman today forecast moderate to heavy rain in the sub-Himalayan districts of West Bengal while south Bengal is likely to receive one or two spells of rain, which may keep the day temperatures low.

The sub-Himalayan districts of Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri and Cooch Behar are likely to receive moderate to heavy rain in the next two to three days, the Met department said.

Districts of south Bengal are likely to receive one or two spells of rain with the sky remaining overcast which may keep day temperatures low, it said.

There was little or no rainfall in different parts of the state in 24 hours from yesterday morning.
 

Kolkata recorded the day's highest temperature at 31.6 degrees Celsius, the Met department said.
