Monsoon remains subdued across West Bengal

The MeT Department today forecast one or two spells of rain in different areas of West Bengal, where most pasts received little or no rainfall in the last two days as the monsoon remained subdued in the state.

The weatherman predicted partly cloudy sky with possibility of one or two spells of rain or thundershowers in both south Bengal and sub-Himalayan districts of north Bengal for the next two days.

Kolkata received 15.7 mm rainfall, the state's highest precipitation in 24 hours since last morning.

In other places in the state, there was little or no rainfall, it said.

Diamond Harbour in south Bengal recorded the highest temperature in the state at 34.8 degrees Celsius, the Department said.
