A "general" terror alert has been issued for all air force stations and air bases in the country, especially in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Security sources said that the alert was issued based on an input generated by the Defence Intelligence Agency.
The input was shared with the Multi Agency Centre (MAC) earlier this week following which it was disseminated to the concerned states.

"The alert is very general in nature but security measures have been enhanced," a senior security official said.
