A probe has been ordered into the search of body of a 20-year-old girl with bullet wounds allegedly by male police officers, after the incident created an uproar in village Manoharpur of the district.
SSP Vijay Yadav has ordered inquiry by CO, Behat into the May 17 incident in which, the body of the victim was recovered from Dehradun National highway near the village and searched by policemen. They recovered four live bullets from near her.
Biharigad police Station in-charge Naresh Kumar had ordered policemen to search the body, even though eight women police officers were posted at the station, which drew criticism from the villagers.
