Property dealer shot dead in UP

A property dealer has been allegedly shot dead by four persons at Khatoli town here, police said today.

Ameer Alam, was shot at last evening. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

On the basis of a complaint filed by victim's father, police have booked Sudhir Goel, former district treasurer of Samajwadi Party and his three associates for the murder.

Alam was killed at Goel's office yesterday, Circle Officer D K Mittal said.

An FIR has been registered against Sudhir Goel, his son Amit Goel, his nephew Vicky and one unidentified man.

A licensed pistol of Sudhir was also recovered from the spot, police said, adding that security has been tightened in the area.
