Tracking gains in global market, silver prices spurted Rs 158 to Rs 36,175 per kg in futures trade today, as participants widened speculative position.
Silver for delivery in March next year was trading higher by Rs 158, or 0.44 per cent at Rs 36,175 per kg in a business turnover of 73 lots at the Multi Commodity Exchange.
Also, the white metal for delivery in December gained Rs 125, or 0.35 per cent to Rs 35,419 per kg in 7,217 lots.

In the international market, silver added 0.6 per cent to USD 14.71 an ounce in London.
Analysts said a firming trend in global market mainly influenced silver prices in futures trade here.
