There was slight respite from cold in parts of Uttar Pradesh despite light to moderate rain and thundershowers occurring at few places over east and many places over western districts.
Night temperatures appreciably rose in Gorakhpur, Allahabad, Meerut divisions, rose in Lucknow, Jhansi divisions and changed little in the remaining divisions of the state, MeT officials said.
The chief amount of rainfall recorded in cms are-Bahraich, Nagina, Thakurdwara, Swar, Pawayan, Utraulla, Kanpur, Nighasan-3 each, Barabanki, Baheri, Dhampur, Mauranipur, Sambhal, Bisalpur, Tilhar, Kaisarganj -2 each, Kheri, Hardoi, Moradabad and Aligarh-1 each, they said.
The night temperatures were largely above normal in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Faizabad, Allahabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Bareilly, Agra, Meerut divisions, markedly above normal in Jhansi division, appreciably above normal in Moradabad division.
Lowest minimum temperature over the state was 05.9 degree Celsius recorded at Etawah.
They forecast that weather would be dry and fog would occurred isolated places over the state.
