Rain and thundershowers occurred at most places over eastern Uttar Pradesh and a few places in the western part of the state in the past 24 hours.
According to MeT department, heavy to very heavy rainfall occurred at a few places over eastern UP.
Chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cms are - Pratapgarh and Chhatnag- 13 each, Salempur (Deoria), Karchana (Allahabad)- 12 each, while Phulpur, Kunda, Allahabad (Sadar) and Akabarpur recorded 11 each.

Similarly Mau, Sultanpur had 9 cms rainfall each, Faizabad Varanasi, Jaunpur had 8 each, Raebareli had 7, while Banda recorded 6, it said.
The MeT department has forecast rain/thundershowers at isolated places over eastern UP tomorrow.
Meanwhile, rail and road traffic were disrupted at several places due to the uprooting of trees.
In Gonda, traffic was disrupted on Lucknow-Gorakhpur rail route for over three hours due to uprooting of trees in Maskanwa railway station.
Meanwhile in Azamgarh, a couple were killed today when the wall of their house collapsed following continuous rains since yesterday.
Kanhai Gond (45) and Meena Gond (42) were killed when the 'kutchcha" wall of their house collapsed in Muslimpatti village under Nizambad police station area here, Superintendent of Police Dinesh Chandra Dubey said.
