Small sugar drops on lower demand

Small sugar prices dropped at the Vashi wholesale market here today following lower demand from stockists and bulk consumers.

While, medium sugar prices ruled stable in the absence of any worthwhile buying.

Small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 2/11 per quintal to Rs 3,860/3,925 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 3,862/3,936.

Medium sugar (M-30) was steady at Rs 3,900/4,090.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,900/4,090 (Rs 3,900/4,090).

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,860/3,925 (Rs 3,862/3,936).
