Sugar declines further on subdued demand

Both the variety sugar prices declined further at the Vashi wholesale market here today on subdued demand from bulk consumers on the back of adequate supply position.

Small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 50/52 per quintal to Rs 2,450/2,550 from previous closing level of Rs 2,500/2,602.

Medium sugar (M-30) dropped by Rs 42/62 per quintal to Rs 2,550/2,670 as against Rs 2,592/2,732.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,450/2,550 (Rs 2,500/2,602).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,550/2,670 (Rs 2,592/2,732).
