Sugar ends mixed in lacklustre trade

Sugar prices displayed a mixed pattern of trading at the Vashi wholesale market here due to alternate buying and selling amid sluggish offtake from retail consumers.

Small sugar (S-30) was quoted at Rs 3,036/3,172 per quintal from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 3,000/3,176.

Medium sugar (M-30) were also quoted at Rs 3,180/3,322 per quintal as against Rs 3,172/3,350 last weekend.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,036/3,172 (Rs 3,000/3,176.

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,180/3,322 (Rs 3,172/3,350).
