Sugar mill gate prices up on better offtake

Sugar mill gate prices improved by Rs 25 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following increased offtake by stockists and bulk consumers amid tight supply.

On the other hand, sugar spot prices remained quiet on sporadic buying.

Marketmen said fresh buying by stockists and bulk consumers to meet marriage session demand caused the rise in mills prices.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices rose by Rs 25 each to end the day at Rs 3,010-3,235 and Rs 3,000-3,225 per quintal.

In the mill gate section, sugar Kinnoni moved up by Rs 25 to Rs 3,235, while Khatuli and Anupsaher gained by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,215 and Rs 3,030 per quintal.
 

Prices of Mawana, Budhana, Dorala, Thanabhavan and Dhampur also advanced by Rs 15 each to Rs 3,125, Rs 3,130, Rs 3,125, Rs 3,120 and Rs 3,185 per quintal respectively.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal)

Sugar retail markets - Rs 32.00-35.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,220-3,470, S-30 Rs 3,210-3,460.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,010-3,235, S-30 Rs 3,000-3,225.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,125, Kinnoni Rs 3,225, Asmoli Rs 3,195, Dorala Rs 3,125, Budhana Rs 3,130, Thanabhavan Rs 3,120, Dhanora Rs 3,200, Simbholi Rs 3,185, Khatuli Rs 3,215, Dhampur Rs 3,185, Ramala Rs 3,025, Anupshaher Rs 3,030, Baghpat Rs 3,040, Morna Rs 3,025, Sakoti Rs 3,095, Chandpur Rs 3,075, Nazibabad Rs 3,015, Modinagar 3,115, Shamli 3,100, and Nanota 3,025.
