A 19-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in the Baramulla district of north Kashmir, police said here today.
The girl was found hanging from the ceiling of a room inside her residence at Bobhiwan-Kunzar village, around 40 kms from here, last evening, a police spokesman said.
He said the room was locked from inside and the girl had apparently committed suicide.
However, the motive behind her taking such an extreme step was not known, the spokesman said adding a case has been registered and further investigations are on.
