Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah today condoled the death of his Manipur counterpart Syed Ahmed in Mumbai due to cancer.
"I am deeply shocked and grieved to hear about the sudden demise of your beloved husband Dr Syed Ahmed," Rosaiah said in a message to the late leader's wife, Syed Hasan Tara.
"He was an able administrator, a man of simplicity and a scholar who had dedicated himself to the cause of promotion of education and upliftment of the poor and weaker sections of the society," Rosaiah said in the message released by the Raj Bhavan here.

Ahmed's death was "an irreparable loss to the nation and to the people of Maharashtra and Manipur in particular," Rosiah said and expressed his since condolences to the bereaved family members.
Ahmed, suffering from cancer and admitted to Lilavati Hospital in suburban Bandra in Mumbai last week, breathed his last today.
