Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah today expressed grief over the deaths of Indians, including those from Tamil Nadu, who were killed in a stampede near the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia on Thursday.
He said he was "deeply shocked and grieved" to hear about the tragic accident in which many Haj pilgrims were killed.
"Out of the 14 Indians who lost their lives, three were from Tamil Nadu and one from Hyderabad. I convey my sincere condolences to the bereaved members of the families and wish the injured a speedy recovery," he said in a Raj Bhavan statement.
