Two injured in fire after cylinder blast in Mumbai

At least two persons were today injured in a fire, which broke out after a LPG cylinder exploded at Chembur here, police said.

The incident occurred at around 6.10 PM at Subhedar Ramji Ambedkar Nagar at Laldongar area. The fire broke out from a room which was locked since a few days and spread to nearby hutments, a senior police official said.

Locals informed the Chunabhatti police station and fire brigade, he added.

Seven fire engines were rushed to the spot and the blaze was brought under control after an hour-long operation, added the official.

The injured are admitted to a civic hospital. Prima facie, the blaze erupted after LPG cylinder blast, he said adding a probe is underway.
