Two persons were killed and two others were feared drowned when the car in which they were travelling fell into Bargi canal, about 35 km from here, a police official said.
One of the passengers managed to save himself.
The victims were returning to Jabalpur from Bargi dam after a picnic when the car driver suddenly lost control and it fell into the canal near Elwas village, Additional Superintendent of Police Mahesh Chandra Choudhary said.
While two persons were killed, other two were missing and feared drowned. Police had fished out the bodies of Shahbaz and Ayush, the ASP said.
The water release in the canal has been stopped to facilitate the search for two others.
