Two militants of
United Achik Liberation Army (UALA) were arrested from a remote village in Meghalaya's South West Garo Hills district, the police said today.
Acting on a tip-off on the presence of UALA militants in Rongsangre village, the police launched a search operation at around 5 pm yesterday, they said.

"We have arrested two UALA militants while two others escaped in to the jungle nearby," Superintendent of Police R Muthu told PTI.
They have been identified as Altat Ch Marak and Diksen M Marak of East Garo Hills district, he said.
The duo is being interrogated and no arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession, he said.
State police's Swift Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) commandoes conducted the operation after a tip-off of their presence, he said.
The militants were taking shelter in the village with an intention of hiding from the counter insurgency operations in Garo Hills region.
