Four members of a family including two brothers and their parents who allegedly stopped civic officials from razing an unauthorised construction in the Shree Nagar locality of Wagle Estate on Wednesday, have been booked, the police said here today.
The Shree Nagar police charged the family under Sections 353, 506, 504 read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code as well as Sections 397A (1) A and B of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporations Act 1949, the police said.
Thane Municipal Corporation's Assistant Municipal Commissioner (Wagle Estate Division) Mangal Shinde told PTI that a team of civic workers went to the location to pull down an unauthorised permanent pucca structure which was being built by the owner, replacing the unauthorised temporary shed.

When the civic team began pulling it down, the owner's family comprising Syam Korde, Sashi Korde and his parents opposed it and created the scene despite the presence of Thane Municipal Corporation officials and the police.
When the officials took a tough stand the Korde family fled the scene after which the illegal construction was razed, the police officer said.
No arrest has been made in connection with the offence so far, the police said.
