Renowned writer and former Union Minister M P Veerendra Kumar and prominent non-resident Indian entrepreneur C K Menon have been selected for Vigil Sarga Shreshta and Sarga Seva awards respectively, instituted by Vigil Human Rights, Kerala.
Speaking to mediapersons, Vigil Human Rights Working President K G Venugopal and P S Sreedharan Pillai, General Secretary, said travelogue 'Danube Sakshi' won the award for Veerendra Kumar while Menon has been selected for Vigil Sarga Seva award for his contribution to Keralites.
The award would be conferred on both Kumar and Menon at the 'third Sarga Vasantham 2013-14' to be held at Ernakulam during the end of July, Venugopal said.

Central and State ministers are expected for the function, he said.
The award carries of cash prize of Rs 25,001, memento and a citation, he said.
A three-member jury headed by renowned writer C Radhakrishnan, K P Kunju Moosa and Sreedharan Pillai, selected the winners.
