Kamrup Metropolitan district administration today lodged an FIR against theft of some "very important" documents from the office of the Deputy Commissioner.

After reports of some files going missing, the Deputy Commissioner M Angamuthu asked one ADC to enquire the development.

After the preliminary investigation, it was found that "some very important documents were missing from the registration section".

"It must be an incident by some dishonest and vested interested lobby," a release said.

Accordingly, the DC asked the concerned official to register a case at Panbazar police station.

"On behalf of the DC, the Deputy Registrar filed an FIR today," the statement said.
