Eighteen cartons of bearings stolen, FIR lodged

Eighteen cartons of bearings (a machine element) were stolen by unidentified persons from a warehouse in Sitapura industrial area here, police said today.

The culprits, who are estimated to be ten in number, also tied hands of four security guards of the warehouse,they said.

One of the security guards managed to free himself and informed the police.

"The CCTV footage shows at least four men entering into the warehouse and it is likely that they took the cartons on motorcycles," police said.

The stock was of a pump manufacturing company, the police said.

"In the FIR lodged under sections 380 (Theft) and 458 (trespass or house-breaking) of IPC, the warehouse company said that hands of its security guards were tied by the unknown men who stole the cartons," the police said, adding, that the matter was under investigation.
