Wheat moves up on increased offtake by flour mills

In restricted activity, wheat prices edged up by Rs 5 per quintal at the wholesale market today on increased offtake by flour mills.

However, other grains traded in a narrow range in scattered deals and settled at previous levels.

Traders said increased offtake by flour mills mainly led to the rise in wheat prices.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) inched up by Rs 5 to Rs 1,615-1,620 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher by the same margin to Rs 1,620-1,625 per 90 kg.

Wheat MP (deshi) 2,245-2,445, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,615-1,620, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,620-1,625, Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 220, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 220, Roller flour mill 850- 875 (50 kg), Maida 915-925 (50 kg) and Sooji 1,030-1,050 (50 kg).
 

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice 9,500, Basmati common new 8,200-8,700, Rice Pusa- (1121) new 6,800-8,600, Permal raw 2,100-2,150, Permal wand 2,250-2,300, Sela 2,750-2,800 and Rice IR-8 1,925-1,975,Bajra 1,210-1,215, Jowar yellow 1,400-1,420, white 2,325-2,525, Maize 1,210-1,215, Barley 1,630-1,635.
