A 40-year-old
widow was brutally killed by unknown persons at Ichagarh in Seraikela-Kharswan district, the police said today.
"The body was recovered from a field in a naked state and bore injury marks on the face, ears and had broken teeth, Officer-in-charge of Ichagarh police station, Vijay Prakash said.
The victim, Sokda Kantiwai, having lost her eyesight, was living with her 75-year-old mother, he said adding that the duo were having some feud over a piece of land.
On Sunday night, Kantiwai rushed out of her house and started shouting of unidentified persons, who had pelted her house with stones and fled, he said.
The victim was suspected to have dragged out of her house and killed, he said.
The body has been sent to M G M Hospital for post-mortem and police investigation was on, he added.
