Prakash Javadekar, the lone minister to be promoted to Cabinet rank today, said he will "dutifully" discharge the responsibility given to him, while other newly inducted ministers cited carrying out the government's development agenda as their priority.
"This is more responsibility and I will do it dutifully," Javadekar said after taking oath.
Javadekar held independent charge of the Environment Ministry while other MPs took oath as Ministers of State.

An MP from Maharashtra, S R Bhamre, who joined the Council of Ministers, said what could not be achieved in 60 years was done in the last two years by the Modi government, the only target of which is 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas'.
"I will definitely meet the expectation from me. The Modi government has completed two years and many a good work have been done. But still a lot of work is left. Our Prime Minister's only target is Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas' and development is the only agenda," he said.
Noting that the opposition was trying to mislead the people, he said the performance of the government is speaking for itself.
"Priority will be given to work for the interest of the farmers, youths, women, besides making efforts for uplift of all sections of society including Dalits," he said.
Faggan Singh Kulaste, an MP from Madhya Pradesh who also secured a ministerial berth, said the government in the last two years had taken important decisions and his responsibility is to see that their implementation is being done properly at the grassroot level.
"The government has taken many important decisions and it is our responsibility to see that their implementation is being done properly and taken to the grassroot level," he said.
To a question, Kulaste said he will be happy with whatever ministry is given to him.

Surendrajeet Singh Ahluwalia, who joined the Council of Ministers, said his priority will be to bring development for the people.
"Our leader, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's slogan is till we bring development, we cannot deliver. We have to bring development to the rural and urban areas and for the masses," he said.
Anupriya Patel, one of the youngest MPs to be inducted in the Modi government, said that she will fulfil her responsibility with honesty and devotion.
"I am happy that Narendra Modiji has shown so much faith in me. I want to give the assurance that the responsibility he has given me will be fulfilled with honesty and devotion and the positive results will come to the forefront," she said.
Terming Modi as the "captain", P P Chaudhary, the MP from Rajasthan, who was inducted in the government, said his priority will be to take up the work given by the Prime Minister.
"The Prime Minister is our leader and the captain of our team and in his hands lie the development of India. Whatever work he gives us, we will work with priority on that," he said.
Rajen Gohain, the only face from Assam to join the ministry, said he would want to work for the development of Assam and the northeast.
"The Prime Minister has inducted us. It is a matter of great happiness for me. Under his leadership I want to serve the country and do something for Assam and the northeast," he said.
