Zinc moves down on global cues

Zinc prices eased by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today largely on weak trend overseas.

Traders said sentiments turned bearish after zinc retreated from the highest level in ten months and most industrial metals declined in global markets as the dollar strengthened ahead of a monthly report on the US employment.

Meanwhile, zinc for delivery in three-months fell 0.8 per cent to USD 1,966 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, zinc ingots declined by Rs 2 to Rs 94-100 per kg.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
 

Zinc ingots Rs 94-100, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 842-847, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 365, chadri deshi Rs 295.

Lead ingots Rs 72, lead imported Rs 78, aluminium ingots Rs 155, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 151, aluminium wire scrap Rs 151 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 149.
