Supreme Industries plans Rs 250 crore capex for 2016-17

Supreme Industries, one of India’s leading plastic processor, is planning to invest Rs 250 for expanding capacity of its various plants and product range during 2016-17. This was disclosed by B L Taparia, chairman, Supreme Industries Ltd, during the annual general meeting of the company held yesterday in Mumbai.
 
As a part of this expansion plan, the company will set up a 20,000 tonnes annual capacity of PVC pipe at Gadegaon in Solapur (Maharashtra) instead of Jalgaon (Maharashtra) and to install new extrusion lines for PVC pipe and PE pipes at Kharagpur (West Bengal).
 
Supreme Industries will put up an additional capacity of performance packaging film and raise capacities of protective packaging products at Malanpur (Madhya Pradesh) and Hosur (Tamil Nadu). Besides, the company will introduce and increase range of product offerings in plastic piping system, furniture, material handling products, roto moulded products and bathroom fittings.
 
 
The company's greenfield facility to manufacture new category of furniture products at Kharagpur is likely to go into production during the second quarter of 2016-17. Supreme Industries will launch eleven new products of moulded furniture in this year. It also plans to add more than 200 new varieties of pipe fittings during the current year.
