Fair trade regulator CCI on Tuesday approved Kandhari Global Beverages' proposal to acquire beverage major Coca-Cola's bottling plant for Rs 2,000 crore.
Kandhari Global Beverages is an authorised bottler of the Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) and Schweppes Holdings, and is engaged in the business of supplying and distributing non-alcoholic beverage (NAB) products in Rajasthan.
"CCI approves the proposed acquisition of the target business by Kandhari Global Beverages Pvt Ltd," the Competition Commission of India (CCI) said in a release.
The target business comprises Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd's (HCCBPL) business of preparing, packaging, supplying and distributing NAB products in north Gujarat and Union Territory of Diu.
Last month, Coca-Cola said that it is selling its bottling plant in the north Gujarat region to Kandhari Global Beverages.

Adani Group-owned Ambuja Cements has completed the acquisition of 37.8 per cent promoters' stake of CK Birla group firm Orient Cement Ltd (OCL) and has become a promoter.
With this, the total shareholding of Ambuja Cements in OCL has gone up to 46.66 per cent, as it has also acquired 1.82 crore share representing 8.87 per cent from public shareholders of OCL.
"Ambuja has completed the acquisition of 7,76,49,413 equity shares (representing 37.79 per cent of equity share capital) of the company from the promoter group," said a regulatory filing from OCL.
Pursuant to the acquisitions from the promoter group and public shareholders, Ambuja has acquired sole control of OCL and has become the promoter of the company, it added.
Last October, Ambuja Cements had announced to acquire OCL at a valuation of Rs 8,100 crore as part of its expansion drive.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on Friday presented a Rs 40,187 crore-budget for the megapolis.

The Rajya Sabha on Thursday returned the Finance Bill 2025 to the Lok Sabha, along with 35 government amendments, including one that abolishes a 6 per cent digital tax on online advertisements, thus completing the 2025-26 budgetary exercise that started on February 1.
The House also returned the Appropriation Bill (3) with a voice vote.
Earlier in the day, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had moved the two bills in the House.
The Lok Sabha had passed the Finance Bill on March 25 and passed the Appropriation Bill on March 21.
Replying to the debate later in the evening, she said the tendency of the finance ministry would be to exercise caution and not let go of revenues.
