New Delhi, Sep 04 (ANI): As Kolkata basks the canonisation of Mother Teresa on Sunday, let's have a look at things that she did to make this world a better place. Mother Teresa, who is formally known as Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, M.C., was a Catholic nun who founded the Missionaries of Charity and received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her work for the poor. In 1950, she founded the women's congregation to help the poor. As Mother will be christened as a "saint" at the Vatican on Sunday, a group of 140 from Kolkata will take off on a trip to Italy. After witnessing the historic event, they will head for half a dozen other destinations across the Mediterranean nation, rounding it off with a visit to Milan, the world's fashion capital. Kolkata's teams, in two batches of 100 and 40, flew out on Friday and Saturday, respectively. The trip was planned shortly after Mother Teresa's second miracle was accepted by the Vatican November last, paving the way for her sainthood.
