Construction of chariots for Puri Rath Yatra begun

Puri (Odisha), May 10 (ANI): The construction work of chariots for Puri Rath Yatra has begun amid coronavirus lockdown. The 9-day festival is scheduled to start from June 23. Administrator (Development) Officer of Jagannath Temple Administration, Ajay Jena said, "72 workers are making chariots for Puri Rath Yatra. Centre has given approval for construction, with conditions." "In order to prevent mingling of 'rath sevaks' with their families, the temple administration has decided to keep them in three 'bhakt nivas' of the temple," Ajay Jena further said.
