Former village head shot dead in UP's Amethi

Amethi (Uttar Pradesh), May 26 (ANI): An ex-village head from Baraulia, Surendra Singh, was shot dead in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi late night today. He was shot by unidentified assailants at his residence in Amethi district. While speaking to media on the matter, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Amethi Rajesh Kumar said, "He was shot at around 3:00 am. We have taken a few suspects into custody. Investigation is on. It can be due to an old dispute or a political dispute."
