Locals in Imphal queue up outside petrol pumps amid Assam 'bandh'

Imphal (Manipur), Dec 15 (ANI): Locals queued up outside petrol pumps in Imphal amid reports of fuel scarcity due to protests in neighbouring Assam over Citizenship Amendment Act. Protest in Northeast intensified after CAB was passed by both the Houses in Parliament. President Ram Nath Kovind gave his assent to the Bill on Dec 13. Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will give Indian citizenship to non-Muslim immigrants who faced persecution in three neighbouring countries.
