Olympian Lakha Singh struggles to lead better life

Ludhiana (Punjab), Jan 10 (ANI): Five times National Champion from Ludhiana, Lakha Singh is struggling to make ends meet and is now a taxi driver. Lakha is a bronze-medal winner from the 1994 Hiroshima Asiad. He also won a bronze and a silver medal. He joined the army in 1983 and after his achievements he was given the title of Naik. Despite bringing many laurels to the country and earning a name for himself in the world of boxing, Lakha is presently working as a taxi driver in Ludhiana earning a petty 8000 rupees per month. He says that the army does not even provide him a pension and he has to struggle to lead a better life.
